At first they were pretty tight across my foot and I thought oh no I can't wear these. But, there is an initial break in period, at least for me. They were long enough and my foot isn't wide. I wore them again and it was better. By the third time they are comfy and so unique. I love the llama print!

First of all, I should preface this review by noting that I've bought several pairs of Tom's alpargatas in the past. I love the simple, casual style, and they pair well with a lot of what I wear. So I do keep coming back. However, they aren't perfect and my persistent gripe is with the sizing. These are not made for people with slender or narrow feet. I typically wear a men's size 11 in sneakers and a size 10 in dress shoes or boots. For Tom's alpargatas, from a length perspective and in the toe box area, the 10.5s are spot on for me. However, the 'waist' of the 10.5s are far too roomy leaving extra space around the sides of my feet below the ankles and a feeling that the shoes might slip off when walking. When I size down to the 10s, the fitment is much more snug around the sides (although they could still be snugger) but my toes start to run up against the ends of the toebox because the size 10 isn't quite long enough. So if you have longer, more slender or shapely feet, it's a bit of a case of picking your poison with Tom's. I've usually opted to downsize and have tried my luck with a variety of methods to try to stretch the shoes to give me a bit more room at the ends, which I won't get into here. I just wish that Tom's would make their shoes compatible with those of us who don't have stubby, Hobbit feet. It's not a problem that is unique to Tom's by any means but it is a problem nonetheless. To my slim-footed brethren, you have been warned!

This is my 6th pair of Toms and the first pair I've had to "break in." They are so tight across the top that I have put bandaids on my feet and am tugging at the elastic to try and loosen it up. I do love the color and the microfiber "suede." I think the sizing has changed because my old Toms never needed breaking in and they still fit. My feet haven't changed.

They were just a bit too tight when I got them, but I figured they would stretch a little. I've been wearing them for 4 months & they haven't stretched at all & still rubbing blisters. Wish I could just exchange, but they only take back unworn shoes purchased less than 30 days ago.

I was a little hesitant to buy this style because it said platform. This design is perfect. Not to high and definitely not to low. The low platform actually make it a very comfortable and stylish work shoe. Nice sturdy canvas on top and the bottoms are great for no slippage.

I am a fan of Toms shoes. I got my first pair about 10 years ago. But since then I had a hip replaced and a nerve was severed. Which made me have a drop foot. And my little toe and the two next to it are not real stable anymore. I can wear them comfortably because the fabric is more forgiving than leather is. This latest pair has fleece, so I can wear them without socks in cooler weather. It's almost impossible to be able to reach my foot and wear socks.

They hurt my feet so bad the first few times I've worn them (which I never had a problem with before). They were really tight to get my feet into but fit perfect length wise. The part that goes over the top of my foot is just so stiff that it feels like it's cutting into my foot. I did notice it's getting less painful each wear so they just need to be broken in. I know I will love them once they soften up. Toms are my favorite slip on shoe.

They are very comfortable and stylish. They go with all my outfits. I bought another pair (same color) almost immediately as back up. I do find that I need to give them a quick scub with dish soap and a manicure nail brush, but it's totally worth it to keep them looking fresh.

This is the second pair I have had to return because of the lining being sewed so that it created irritation on top of the foot and at the heel. Very disappointed. Will not buy online again… have to try them on in person and I own several other pair…

I love the color of these violet colored Heritage Canvas Alpargatas! I knew I would buy them as soon as I saw them. I bought them based on the consistent style and fit of the Tom's Alpargatas. I hope they live up to the 10 other pairs of Tom's that I have!
